Struggling to see objects, whether they’re up-close or far away, can be disruptive to your daily life. Luckily, you can easily correct your vision with a pair of prescription eyeglasses. At Classic Vision Care in Kennesaw, Marietta, and Atlanta, Georgia, Dr. Mital Patel offers comprehensive eye exams to determine your eyeglass prescription and enhance your vision. At Classic Vision Care, you also have your choice of an extensive line of stylish frames to suit your personality. To schedule a comprehensive vision screening, book an appointment online or by phone.
If you find yourself frequently squinting your eyes to see better, Dr. Patel may recommend corrective eyeglasses to enhance your vision. She performs a thorough eye exam to evaluate the health of your eyes and administers a vision screening to determine your visual acuity.
Visual acuity tests measure how well you see at different distances using an eye chart. Dr. Patel uses a machine, known as a phoropter, which contains various lenses used to determine the prescription strength you need to see the chart clearly.
She may also conduct additional eye tests to determine if you suffer from other underlying vision issues, including astigmatism, myopia, hyperopia, and presbyopia.
Glass and plastic eyeglasses lenses are available. Both are effective in vision correction, but plastic lenses are lighter and more flexible than their glass counterparts.
Classic Vision Care offers single vision lenses and multifocal lenses. Single vision lenses correct issues with distance vision. If you have difficulty seeing objects close-up, Dr. Patel may recommend multifocal lenses.
Multifocal lenses are effective at correcting presbyopia, a condition where it’s difficult for you to focus clearly on close-up objects. Presbyopia is a common age-related problem which can be corrected with multifocal lenses known as bifocals.
In addition to customized lens prescriptions, Classic Vision Care offers a full line of stylish eyeglass frames. The knowledgeable staff measures your face to ensure the frames are a good fit. They also provide you with guidance to determine if you need specialty lens coatings and other products to protect your glasses.
Bifocals feature a different prescription strength on the top and bottom half of the lens. The bottom half enables you to read and see things up-close. The upper half of the lens allows you to see from a distance.
Trifocals are also available and provide vision correction for three different zones: near vision, intermediate vision, and distance vision.
Progressive lenses work similarly to bifocals and trifocals but offer a smoother transition between the distance and near focal areas.
